The single-plate manifold has been designed to eliminate the inconveniences deriving from the original intake valve placed on the crankshaft shoulder when it is worn, eliminating the costly replacement of the crankcase and crankshaft. Furthermore, it can be used as a modification for an increase in power and to increase the engine's output at low revs by modifying the crankcase (for this operation it is still necessary to open the crankcases to mill the intake passage).
